Job summary

Remote Robotic Systems in Kanata, ON, is seeking a Physical AI Research Engineer to advance autonomy for drone platforms. You will explore research, develop new approaches, and deploy learning-based autonomy on real hardware.

You’ll work across research, training, simulation, and deployment, collaborating with our software lead to blend modern AI with classical robotics. The role emphasizes rapid experimentation, reproducibility, and robust integration into production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/CE or related field.
• Experience building ML systems for robotics/autonomy.
• Experience with RL, IL, or learned perception for robotics.
• Strong Python; working proficiency in C++.
• Familiarity with robotics concepts: planning, control, estimation.

Responsibilities

• Research, reproduce state-of-the-art physical AI work.
• Design and train ML models for perception, navigation, control.
• Develop sim-to-real transfer and domain randomization.
• Collaborate with software leads to productionize prototypes.
• Document experiments and technical decisions.
