Job summary

A leading automotive service provider in Medicine Hat is looking for qualified Licensed Technicians to join their team. The role involves performing detailed repairs and diagnostics on vehicles, supervising apprentices, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. Candidates must have a Journeyman mechanic license and experience of 4-5 years in a similar role. The position offers a competitive pay of up to $40 per productivity hour and a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • 4-5 years of experience working as a Technician, preferably in the designated OEM environment.
  • Journeyman mechanic license.
  • Ability to perform heavy work, including frequent lifting of more than 50 lbs.
  • A valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work outlined on work order with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Diagnose cause of malfunctions and perform repairs.
  • Examine vehicle for additional safety or service work.
  • Communicate with Service Advisor for necessary work.
  • Order required parts from the parts department.
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Road test vehicles when required.
  • Supervise apprentice technicians as assigned.
  • Stay current with manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Responsibilities
  • Perform work outlined on work order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Diagnose cause of malfunctions and perform repairs; isolating the systems or components that may have caused the problem
  • Examine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required or recommended
  • Communicate with Service Advisor if additional work is needed, if work outlines is not needed or if repair cannot be completed with the promised time line
  • Communicate with parts department to order required parts
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed
  • Road tests vehicles where required
  • Supervises work of apprentice technicians as assigned
  • Stay current with manufacturer technical bulletins and required OEM training
  • Performs other tasks and duties as required.
