Job summary

Fort Frances GM in Fort Frances, Ontario is seeking Automotive Service Technicians to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles in a modern service facility. You will work on engines, transmissions, and electrical systems, using advanced diagnostic tools, and ensure repairs meet safety and quality standards.

Applicants should hold a Red Seal (310S) or be eligible for the Trades Equivalency Assessment, possess strong troubleshooting abilities, and demonstrate reliable, detail-oriented workmanship.

Qualifications

• Valid Class G Driver’s Licence.
• Red Seal Certification (310S) or eligible for Ontario Trade Equivalency Assessment.
• Experience diagnosing drivability issues and performing major repairs.
• Commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivetrain problems using advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Perform major repairs and rebuilds on engines, transmissions, differentials, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
• Troubleshoot complex and intermittent faults to identify the root cause of mechanical failures.
• Remove, repair, rebuild, and reinstall major vehicle components according to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform detailed post-repair testing, adjustments, and inspections to ensure vehicles are safe and operating properly.
• Work collaboratively with Service and Parts Department personnel to ensure efficient repair processes and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of completed repairs, diagnostic findings, and recommended maintenance.

We’re Looking for Candidates Who:

• Want to work in a modern, well-equipped automotive service facility.
• Have strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Are dependable, punctual, and accountable for assigned work.
• Communicate effectively with Service Advisors, Parts Advisors, and management.
• Can accurately document diagnostic findings, completed repairs, and recommended services.
• Hold a valid Class G Driver’s Licence.
• Hold a Red Seal Certification in Automotive Service Technology (310S) or have accumulated sufficient experience to qualify for the Skilled Trades Ontario Trade Equivalency Assessment (7,220 total training and work hours).
