Job summary

Magna International in Markham, Ontario is seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen our automotive powertrain programs. You will ensure product quality is planned, established, and improved across multiple programs, supporting APQP/PPAP activities and customer requirements.

The role requires a Mechanical/Quality/Manufacturing Engineering background with at least five years in automotive quality, knowledge of IATF 16949, and experience with problem solving, PPAP, FMEA, and control plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or diploma in mechanical, quality, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Minimum five years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of OEM requirements and supplier portals (GM, Ford).
  • CQE certification preferred and familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and customer standards; strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Manage programs from launch through production, including APQP deliverables and supplier quality.
  • Oversee NCRs, containment, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
  • Lead audits, PPAP submissions, and establish Control Plans for multiple programs.
  • Coordinate customer interactions, issue resolution, and cross‑functional follow‑up.
  • Develop and maintain process control plans; drive root cause analysis and improvements.
  • Attend weekly reviews, report KPIs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
