We are actively interviewing for dedicated Automatic Door Installation / Service Technicians to contribute to the growing organization’s success. As an Automatic Door Installation / Service Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the installation and maintenance of automatic door systems. You will have a proven track record in servicing and installing automatic doors, possess mechanical and electrical aptitude, and thrive in a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
- Address service requests by traveling to client sites to repair, configure, clean, lubricate, and/or replace required components.
- Make recommendations for repair or replacement of automatic door components or entire units, in consultation with Senior Automatic Door Technicians.
- Tend to pedestrian entrance needs with a sense of urgency.
- Communicate parts used, time on site, product functionality and travel through mobile software.
- Maintain a high level of workmanship, ensuring the quality of installation or repair meets client expectations.
- Minimize rework and repeat service-related issues.
- Install automatic doors and automatic door operators and associated glass.
- Liaise with the project team to deliver on client expectations and communicate unforeseen challenges.
- Maintain inventory accuracy on the assigned service vehicle and stay knowledgeable about parts.
- Tend to after-hour service requests and planned overnight installations on a rotational on-call schedule.
- Maintain safe work practices and abide by all NABCO safety procedures.
- Complete appropriate documentation and take pictures to document job completion.
- Perform safety inspections to ensure adherence to AAADM standards.
- Review project documentation to ensure the product and materials on the work order align with client requirements.
- Visit client sites prior to scheduled installation date to confirm readiness and take measurements when needed.
- Inspect the company vehicle for potential safety hazards on a monthly basis.
- Provide guidance to junior level Automatic Door Technicians.
- Assist with product identification and compatibility assessments when required.
- Provide guidance on building code requirements as needed.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Able to visualize and deconstruct multiple working components to assemble/disassemble complete units with minimal flaw.
- Able to use mobile applications designed to program entrance systems and complete service requests.
- Highly proficient with hand and power tools (e.g., drills, caulking guns, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.).
- Able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of low voltage electrical motors, wiring and components.
- Strong ability to interpret and calculate measurements in metric and imperial format.
Education, Training, Experience
- Completion of secondary school or relevant combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience servicing and installing automatic pedestrian entrance systems.
- An active member of AAADM with a valid inspector certification.
- Mechanical / Electrical Aptitude.
- Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Often working outdoors, subject to weather patterns relevant to the season.
- Driving distances up to 100+ km, or several hours, one-way on occasion depending on region.
- Occasional overnight work may be required. Typically, no more than 2-3 days at a time.
- May from time to time be subject to tight deadlines.
- Able to safely lift up to 75 lbs independently.
- Warehouse and shop facility may include motorized forklifts with associated moving hazards.
- Often working on construction sites, requiring appropriate PPE as directed.
