Airbus is seeking an Autoflight Systems V&V Lead in Mirabel, QC, to drive maturity testing and validation for the next generation of A220 automated flight systems. You will lead cross‑functional teams, coordinate with suppliers, and manage test strategies across multiple benches.

The role requires a PhD-level track record? No, but 10+ years in avionics V&V, strong scripting, and knowledge of aviation standards are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Software, or Aerospace Engineering.
• At least 10 years of avionics systems verification and validation (V&V) experience.
• Strong knowledge of engineering change management, development processes, and avionics systems certification.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards for avionics systems development (14 CFR Part 25, ARP4754, DO-178, DO-331, DO-254).
• Deep expertise in avionics systems, including guidance, autopilot, and autothrottle.
• Strong scripting and programming skills.
• Excellent teamwork, organizational abilities, and rigor; fluent English.
• Eligible for export control clearances; travel may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Lead technical exchanges with suppliers and review V&V plans.

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a V&V lead to join our avionics systems team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada).

You will be part of the autoflight systems team responsible for integration and development of design solutions applicable to the autoflight systems (AFCS) for the A220 aircraft.

The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your role as an Autoflight Systems V&V Lead will be to lead maturity testing, verification, and validation (V&V) activities related to the development and certification of the next generation of A220 automated flight systems.

Your challenges:

• Lead maturity testing, verification, and validation (V&V) activities related to the development and certification of the next generation of A220 automated flight systems;
• Manage priorities, test strategies, and work package scheduling to meet project objectives;

• Lead technical exchanges and follow-ups with suppliers;
• Review verification and validation (V&V) plans to ensure automated flight systems comply with certification objectives.

Your boarding pass:

• You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Software, or Aerospace Engineering;
• You have at least 10 years of experience in avionics systems verification and validation (V&V) within a development environment;
• You demonstrate excellent command of engineering change management, development processes, and avionics systems certification;
• You possess strong knowledge of industry regulations and standards for avionics systems development, including: 14 CFR Part 25, ARP4754, DO-178, DO-331, DO-254;
• You possess deep expertise in avionics systems, specifically guidance systems, autopilot, and autothrottle;
• You have strong scripting and programming skills;
• You demonstrate strong teamwork skills, excellent organizational abilities, and rigor;
• You possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is essential;
• You must be eligible to obtain required export control clearances (EAR and dual-use goods regulations);
• Travel Requirements: Occasional international travel required.
