Overview

CSN Unitech is at the forefront of certified collision repair with a strong emphasis on battery technology from various OEM manufacturers. We are prepared to handle the specific needs and complexities associated with electric and hybrid vehicles to maintain warranties and safety.

Position

Auto Body Technician – join our team. The incumbent will take a damaged vehicle and repair or restore it to original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to multitask to accommodate shifting priorities.

Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician
  • Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan the work to be performed
  • Thoroughly examine collision damage and inspect exterior body parts, power accessories (doors, locks, windows, mirrors), and dash for warning lights; identify any prior damages and update QA or supplemental damage sheets
  • Perform structural and complete body repairs, including front end components, body components, doors, frame, and underbody components; assess, repair or replace interior and exterior parts, electrical components, and vehicle accessories
  • Welding on vehicles with MIG welders and compression spot welders
  • Fully dismantle damaged areas to identify hidden damages early; remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills; repair or replace damaged windows, windshields, and sunroof
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power and hand tools
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
  • Restore vehicle to factory specification (OEM specifications)
  • Inspect repaired vehicles and perform test drives to verify proper handling
  • Read and understand estimates and repair procedures
  • Work with a variety of metals, plastics, glass, electrical, and mechanical parts
  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicles; follow standardized production processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements, Qualifications, and other requirements
  • Auto Body Repair – 3+ years required
  • Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer licenses (310B Red Seal; 310Q) preferred or in a registered apprenticeship program
  • Technician certifications: I-CAR and OEM certifications are favorable
  • I-CAR welding certification or willingness to enroll in welding course
  • Physical requirements: lifting up to 100 lbs, standing, sitting, walking, reaching
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Own tools and safety footwear
