Job summary

Autism Services in Canada is seeking an apprentice for auto body repair responsibilities. The role involves replacing components, preparing surfaces, painting, and finishing repairs under supervision.

Applicants should pursue Level 1–5 apprenticeship training and demonstrate attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork. A valid driver’s license and own transportation are preferred for on-site work.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in auto body repair or equivalent training.
• Commitment to learning a trade with hands-on practice.
• Willingness to work on body components and frame straightening.

Responsibilities

• Replace front end components, doors and frame and underbody components.
• File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired.
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
• Hammer out dents, buckles and defects using blocks and hammers.
• Remove damaged parts and bolt or weld replacements into place.
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces.
• Repair or replace interior components and damaged windows or windshields.
• Mix paint and match colors.

$25.00 to $35.00 hourly (to be negotiated)

Tasks

• Professionalism in customer service
• Clean and maintain work space
• Replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
• File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
• Hammer out dents, buckles and defects using blocks and hammers
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces
• Repair or replace interior components
• Repair or replace damaged windows, windshields and sunroofs
• Mix paint, blend and match colors
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
