Position Summary:

CSN Collision is looking for an Auto Body Technician to join our team. The Auto Body Technician is responsible for repairing or restoring damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and capable of multitasking to accommodate shifting priorities.

Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician:

  • Review damage reports and repair estimates; plan work accordingly
  • Examine collision damage thoroughly, including checking all exterior body parts, power accessories, and warning lights
  • Perform structural and body repairs: Repair and replace front end components, body parts, doors, frame, and underbody components
  • Straighten bent frames using appropriate equipment, hammer out dents and defects
  • Weld on vehicles using MIG welders and spot welders
  • Fully dismantle damaged vehicle areas to identify all damages early in the repair process
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces; mask and tape surfaces in preparation for painting
  • Apply primers, repaint surfaces, and restore vehicles to factory specifications
  • Inspect repaired vehicles and perform test drives for proper handling
  • Read and understand repair estimates and procedures
  • Work with various metals, plastics, glass, electrical, and mechanical parts
  • Use frame and measuring equipment; disassemble and reassemble vehicles
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of auto body repair and refinishing experience
  • Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License or in a registered apprenticeship program (preferred but not required)
  • Certifications such as I-Car and OEM are favorable; I-Car Welding certification is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, stand, sit, walk, and reach
  • Valid driver's license; own tools and safety footwear required
  • Up-to-date compliance training (AODA, WHMIS, workplace safety, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Mitchell / Audatex (3-5 years)
