Position Summary:

CSN Collision is looking for an Auto Body Technician to join our team. The Auto Body Technician must be able to take a vehicle in a damaged state and repair or restore damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The incumbent should be detail-oriented and capable of multitasking to accommodate shifting priorities.

Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician:

  • Review damage reports and estimates of repair costs, and plan work accordingly
  • Thoroughly examine collision damage, including vehicle exterior body parts, power accessories, warning lights, and prior damages
  • Perform structural and complete body repairs: Repair and replace front end components, body parts, doors, frames, and underbody components
  • Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment, hammer out dents and defects
  • Weld on vehicles using MIG welders and spot welders
  • Fully dismantle damaged areas to identify all hidden damages early in the repair cycle
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power and hand tools
  • Mask and tape surfaces in preparation for painting, apply primers, and repaint surfaces
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic fillers to fill holes, dents, and seams
  • Restore vehicles to factory/OEM specifications
  • Inspect repaired vehicles and conduct test drives for proper handling
  • Read and understand repair estimates and procedures
  • Work with various metals, plastics, glass, electrical, and mechanical parts
  • Use frame and measuring equipment, disassemble and reassemble vehicles
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Require 3+ years of auto body repair and refinishing experience
  • Preferably hold Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License or be in a registered apprenticeship program
  • Certifications such as I-Car and OEM are favorable
  • Possess welding certification (I-Car Welding)
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs, standing, sitting, walking, reaching
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Own tools and safety footwear required
  • Up-to-date compliance training (AODA, WHMIS, Worker Health and Safety, Workplace Violence and Harassment, PIPEDA)
  • Knowledge of Mitchell / Audatex (3-5 years)
