Job summary

CGIC, a leading Canadian financial services co‑operative, is seeking an experienced actuary to lead Home & Auto Pricing. You will coach a pricing team, develop detailed project plans, and guide adoption of actuarial models across non‑francophone teams outside Québec.

The role requires six to eight years in property and casualty actuarial work, a degree in actuarial science or related field, and strong English proficiency. Hybrid work arrangements and a competitive rewards package are offered.

Qualifications

  • Six to eight years of relevant property and casualty actuarial experience.
  • Post-secondary degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related discipline.
  • Expert knowledge of actuarial pricing principles and corporate actuarial concepts.
  • Ability to identify and resolve moderately complex business problems.
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgment for design, testing and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and guide team members with consistent feedback and development.
  • Provide training and resources to support growth of direct reports.
  • Develop detailed project plans including rate change projects and actuarial models.
  • Lead contributors with expertise in databases, programming and modeling software.
  • Ensure governance in pricing models and adherence to ethics and policies.
  • Assess implications of proposed pricing changes on business units and implementation pace.
