Job summary

St. Clement's School in Ontario is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students across academic, behavioral, social, and life skills areas. The role is a 1.0 FTE temporary assignment (35 hours/week) with no guaranteed duration.

The EA will work with a multidisciplinary team, may assist with toileting, lifting, positioning, mobility, and use of assistive technology. BMS training and ASD experience are required; Ontario OHRC/AODA commitments apply.

Qualifications

• A relevant university degree or a two-year college diploma in human services.
• BMS training required.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Experience with students with ASD and behavior management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Support students with daily living tasks such as toileting, diapering, feeding, lifting, transferring, positioning and mobility.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to support learning and inclusion.
• Rotate through the school to meet needs of students in multiple grade levels and the Learning Centre.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students.
