Job summary

The University of Alberta is seeking energetic, customer service oriented team members to join our Event Staff for the 2026-27 conference season and playoffs. Roles include event ushering/security and alcohol/merchandise sales at U of A basketball, football, hockey, rugby, soccer and volleyball games.

Shifts are typically scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings from late August through March. All roles contribute to delivering an exciting atmosphere for our student-athletes and fans while

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience preferred for event staff roles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced arena environment.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends during the season.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with ushering and security at athletic events.
  • Sell alcohol and merchandise at games (where permitted).
  • Support fans and ensure a safe, exciting venue.

Job description

This competition is open to all applicants however; internal candidates and applicants who were former employees of the University of Alberta will be given priority consideration before external candidates. Please log in to verify your internal candidate status.

This position has an end date of March 31, 2027.

Location - This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus and South Campus, Edmonton. Work also takes place at Silent Ice Centre, Nisku.

Athletics is currently seeking energetic, customer service oriented, team members to join our Event Staff crew for the 2026-27 conference season and playoffs. Roles include event ushering/security, and alcohol/merchandise sales at U of A basketball, football, hockey, rugby, soccer and volleyball games. Shifts are typically scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the course of the season (late August - March). All roles are crucial to ensuring an exciting atmosphere at our events for both the benefit of our student-athletes and our fans.
