Albert Lacombe School and J.J. Nearing Catholic Elementary School Music and Grade 1.

Temporary Full Time 0.4 FTE at Albert Lacombe and 0.6 FTE at J.J. Nearing.

Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools is located on the original lands of the Cree, Treaty 6, and the homeland of the Métis nation. Duties to commence: Immediately until November 18 2025 with the possibility of extension until December 19 2025.

Qualifications & Duties
  • Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.
  • Apply foundational knowledge about First Nations Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students and support the Division's goals toward advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
  • Possess a Bachelor of Education and valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • College Certificate in Catholic Education is considered an asset.
  • Experience and/or specialization in a Division 1 setting.
  • Experience working with children who have diverse learning needs and who require specialized accommodations and strategies to support those needs.
  • Experience using specific proactive strategies such as visual supports, sensory supports, positive behavior support strategies and communication strategies.
  • Experience with the implementation of Individual Program Plans (IPPs).
  • Committed to working as a collaborative team with an Educational Assistant.
  • Good interpersonal skills working closely with families.
  • Experience/Interest in using various technology tools to assist learning (e.g. SmartBoards and iPads).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm.
