Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a General Merchandise Associate to deliver excellent customer service, maintain a well-organized sales floor, and support stocking and sales activities across general merchandise.

You will engage customers, help them find products, promote services and work with teammates to ensure shelves are ready and the checkout area is supported. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required.

Responsibilities

• Offer excellent customer experience
• Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting customers, helping them choose products, locate merchandise and make purchase decisions, promoting products and services, and resolving related concerns or escalating as needed.
• Cover the selling floor and support the team
• Ensure coverage of designated selling areas and assist with caisse area coverage when needed.
• Communicate with other associates to ensure selling floor coverage and customer needs are met.
• Merchandising, zoning and recovery
• Perform zoning of designated areas to maintain cleanliness and order on the selling floor.
• Move feature items to module locations and handle recovered merchandise at customer service or other store areas.
• Execute stocking and modular setup tasks
• Stock merchandise and selections, lower/raise items as needed, install security devices on items when required and set up and complete modules, including flexible modules and new shelves.
• Safety, cleanliness and compliance
• Maintain a safe, clean and unobstructed work environment by following company policies and completing safety sweep records and ensuring displays are secure.
• Flexibility (shift availability)
• Be willing to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays, depending on business needs.
