Job summary

The Home Depot Canada in Longueuil is seeking a Lot Associate to assist customers by loading orders into their vehicles and keeping the parking lot safe and welcoming. You’ll be the first and last Associate to interact with customers, delivering helpful service and guiding them to the right solutions.

Qualified candidates typically have 1–2 years of retail experience and a high school diploma, with a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends in a warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Customer Satisfaction by following GET Model (Greeting, Engaging, Thanking).
• Maintain a sufficient quantity of carts near the store entrance.
• Ask open-ended questions about customers’ projects to determine their needs and expertise.
• Approach customers to determine if they need help loading product into vehicles and/or shopping carts.
• Plan the best method of loading and securing merchandise in customer’s vehicle as per Safe Loading Training.
• Ensure exits/loading areas are not blocked; sweep and clean debris from front apron and loading pad.
• Follow all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
• Use appropriate safety procedures with all equipment.

Position Overview

The Lot Associate's primary responsibility is to load orders into customer vehicles and ensuring the parking lot is safe and welcoming for the customer. Customer service and GET behaviours play a vital role in this position, as the Lot Associate is often the first and last Associate to interact with a customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a sufficient quantity of carts near the entrance of the store.
• When required, ask open ended questions about the customer’s projects in order to determine their needs and level of expertise.
• Approach customers to determine if they need help loading product into vehicles and/or shopping carts.
• Plan the best method of loading and securing merchandise in customer’s vehicle as per Safe Loading Training.

Maintains Safety and Security

• Ensure that all exits/loading areas are not blocked or cluttered; sweep and clean debris off front apron and lumber loading pad.
• Follows all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
• Using appropriate safety procedures with all equipment.
