Job summary

North Bay Animal Hospital in North Bay, Ontario, is seeking a dedicated veterinarian to join our growing team. Our state‑of‑the‑art facility offers five exam rooms, an in‑house IDEXX lab, surgical suites, dental stations, and advanced diagnostics to support high‑quality care.

We provide a balanced schedule with no on‑call, evenings, or weekends, plus a competitive compensation package including a salary range of C$100,000–C$150,000, bonus potential up to C$20,000, health and dental benefits,

Qualifications

  • DVM or related degree from an accredited university.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in Ontario.
  • Commitment to practicing the highest standard of veterinary medicine and ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to concerns.
  • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures at high quality standards.
  • Communicate treatment plans and preventive care with clients.
  • Maintain medical/surgical records and logs per established protocols.
  • Stay current on veterinary medicine developments and best practices.
  • Present a positive image of the hospital to professional communities and the public.
  • Collaborate with team to support hospital-wide success.
  • Ideally two years of experience but open to new graduates.

Education

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree
Licensure in Ontario in good standing

Job Responsibilities
  • Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to and empathizing with their concerns.
  • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
  • Communicate with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
  • Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols.
  • Stay current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
  • Present a positive image of the hospital to the professional community and to the public.
  • Work in a communicative and collaborative fashion that focuses on team success.
  • Ideally two years of experience but open to new graduates.
Skills And Basic Qualifications
  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in Ontario.
