Job summary

Quantiphi is seeking an Associate Technical Architect - Data to lead advanced data engineering initiatives. The role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, optimizing Spark/PySpark workloads on AWS, and integrating data virtualization and governance tools.

Ideal candidates have extensive hands-on experience with SQL, Apache Iceberg, and cloud services, and can drive greenfield projects in a fast-paced, technology-led environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with SQL, Spark/PySpark and Python.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services such as Athena, RDS PostgreSQL, S3, Glue, EMR, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, SNS, IAM.
• Experience optimizing Spark/PySpark jobs and databases for Apache Iceberg, ClickHouse and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Experience with data pipelines, data virtualization (Denodo) and data governance (Collibra).
• Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience on enterprise greenfield projects in the FSI sector is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize data pipelines and architectures for large-scale analytics.
• Lead technical work with Spark/PySpark on AWS to improve performance and cost.
• Collaborate with data governance and virtualization teams to enable data access and compliance.
• Work on integration of Denodo and Collibra within data platform.
• Mentor teams on best practices in CI/CD and IaC.

Role:

Associate Technical Architect - Data Experience Level: 8+ years; Employment type: Full Time; Location: Remote (Canada).

Required Skills:

Strong hands-on knowledge in SQL (Analytical queries, Window functions, Stored procedures), Spark/PySpark, Python, Apache Iceberg; Strong knowledge in AWS services - Athena, Aurora RDS PostgreSQL, S3, CloudWatch, Glue Catalog, EMR, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, SNS, IAM; Hands-on knowledge and experience in optimizing Spark/PySpark jobs, Database optimizations for Apache Iceberg, ClickHouse and Aurora PostgreSQL; Telco Mobile networks knowledge is preferable but not mandatory; Other Qualifications: Experience of working on enterprise greenfield projects that have Application development workload as well. Experience of working for customers/workloads in the FSI sector domain with use cases. Experience in building data pipelines integrating with data virtualization tools like Denedo & data governance tools like Collibra. Exposure to SSIS. Exposure to IaC tools like Terraform and to CI/CD tools.
