Job summary

TD is seeking a software engineer in Toronto focused on the Credit Platform technology stack. You will develop and support analytics-driven components, write robust code, perform unit tests, and participate in code reviews.

You will collaborate with technology partners and stakeholders to ensure performance and alignment with TD's architectural standards. The role emphasizes developing new features, supporting incident resolution, and maintaining high-quality code across engineering programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience developing and deploying applications using Java, JavaScript and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with API development, RESTful APIs, microservices and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Develop components of solutions with a focus on analytics, support, testing and proofs of concept.
  • Develop new features and perform unit tests for new application initiatives.
  • Assist in code reviews and ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
  • Analyze requirements and propose engineering solutions within the area and architecture guidelines.
  • Document system components, architecture designs, and deployment considerations.

May also provide research, installation, maintenance, configuration, administration and/or provisioning of systems/applications.Develop new solutions as required for engineering programs and projects within assigned areaDevelop new features and perform unit / component test for new application development initiatives aligned to business needs and in accordance with technology architecture standardsSupport business enquiries and business activities through execution of small enhancements and break / fix implementations (e.g. source code changes) May also be responsible for peer code review.Work with technology partners to ensure the configuration and custom components meet application requirements and performance goalsAnalyze the technical requirements to recommend pragmatic and sound engineering specific solutions for own area, may be involved in coding/story estimatesWork with other stakeholders, internal technology partners to ensure engineering solutions meet technical direction, requirements, performance, time-to-market and innovation goalsMonitor product lifecycles, ensuring specifications and functionality support business objectives and engineering decisions, undertaking re-development where requiredDocument and verify system components, applications, system infrastructure, security, integration, operability and engineering related architecture designs associated with a program or projectParticipate in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirementsCreate and maintain quality code, ensure defect free programming consistent with standards;
