About the role

Boston Scientific’s Access Solutions Site is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and strategic project management professional to join its PMO team and work on transseptal access products. In this role, you will manage the product lifecycles from product launch to end of life, ensuring critical therapies and systems reach patients and clinicians in support of Boston Scientific’s mission.

As an Associate Project Manager, you will play an integral role in leading projects within the Electrophysiology (EP) Division, with focus on the Access Solutions product portfolio. The scope of projects includes improvement to quality, service, cost of the product, product launch support, and product end of life. The Associate Project Manager will provide leadership to an interdisciplinary team of professionals across sites in Mississauga, Arden Hills (Minnesota) and Cartago (Costa Rica).

Reporting to a Manager of Project Management, this position offers high visibility and involves ongoing reporting to the Franchise Leadership Team on project progress and risks.

This position is expected to work from our office location in Mississauga, Ontario and will operate under the hybrid work model.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead cross-functional project teams to the successful completion of project goals. Ensure the scope of work, schedules, costs, and risks are properly planned, resourced, and managed.
  • Develop business case with cross-functional team, with clear patient benefits, sound return on investment estimates, and project cost budgeting.
  • Support the teams with all project activities, oversee risks and technical challenges, and evaluate potential solutions and their ultimate impact on the project and business.
  • Create and manage detailed implementation plans outlining multidisciplinary work plans, timelines, roles, and resources for various projects.
  • Direct project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
  • Communicate project status on a consistent basis by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
  • Resolve project issues by working with team members, project customers, and others as appropriate.
  • Drive results by acting with speed and agility. Eliminate blockers and act to advance areas that need improvement with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead project phases and franchise reviews preparation, in alignment with the BSC Quality Management System requirements.
  • Consult with internal project groups by sharing project management knowledge and mentoring more junior project leaders in project management processes and techniques.
  • Other duties as required.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in an Engineering, Science or Commerce-related field, accompanied by a technical background
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience as a project manager, or in a cross-functional leadership role
  • 3+ years leading cross-functional teams through all project phases, from ideation through project completion/closure with proven benefits to the business
  • Proven experience planning and monitoring the financial performance of the project (variable expenses, CAPEX, headcount, COGS, margin)
  • Proven experience in managing projects using Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate project status, risks and issues to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, domestically and internationally

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Project Management or MBA
  • PMP Certification
  • Engineering background through education and/or work experience
  • Experience in the medical device industry highly preferred
  • Influential leadership skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to collect information from multiple sources and synthesize, integrate, and resolve conflicting requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of operations and systems (product configuration management, QMS, ERP, MRP, BOM, ordering management, transfer to manufacturing, production tools, quality systems), preferably in the medical device industry
  • Cross-functional experience in R&D, Commercial, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, and/or Global Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards related to medical devices (e.g., FDA, ISO, EU MDR, QSR design controls)
  • Ability to exercise a flexible mindset

Salary range: 66,500 – 131,800 USD (varies by location and other factors).

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.

At Boston Scientific, it is not typical for a role to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
