Onex is an investor and asset manager that invests capital on behalf of Onex shareholders and clients across the globe. The Opportunity:

To support the firm’s continued growth, Onex is looking to hire an Associate for the Project Management function within the Client & Product Solutions team. The focus of the role is to help execute our global fundraising and client relations efforts with a focus on Private Equity strategies.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Client & Product Solutions, you will support the institutional client team, marketing and project management function. You will be part of high-level strategic agenda conversations with direct exposure to senior stakeholders; substantive project ownership and responsibility for driving work from end-to-end; and interacting, alongside relationship managers, with prospective LPs globally.

What you will do:
  • Partner with senior team members on raising, marketing and structuring funds related to Onex' Private Equity platforms
  • Work closely with investment professionals and deal teams to understand the current portfolio, deal pipeline, and overall market dynamics.
  • Create and update marketing materials, quarterly presentations, and draft investor letters.
  • Lead modules of live fundraising for firmwide products.
  • Maintain an open dialogue with investors and provide ongoing LP support.
  • Maintain and update a database of existing and prospective inves
  • Prepare in-depth investor research to support outreach efforts, and develop/maintain research on the competitive landscap
  • Address ongoing and ad hoc current and prospective investor reques
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis and assist in expanding the firm’s investor relationships
  • Work collaboratively within the group and the firm in a manner that is focused on the group and the firm’s missions, values and goals.
  • Work in partnership with the investor coverage team and product specialists to ensure that we are being efficient with investors’ time, inclusive when appropriate, and investor interaction is effective and successful.
  • Support the team-oriented nature of the group, proffering insights and opinions and sharing market intelligence particularly about areas that can directly or immediately impact the group, firm's and other individuals’ success in a collective win and supportive community and culture.
What you will bring:
  • 2-4 years of experience in investor relations, product management, investment banking or management consulting; ideally with prior exposure to alternative asset classes such as credit and/or private equity.
  • A strategic orientation, strong organizational, interpersonal, quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to build rapport and trust with team members.
  • Detail-oriented placing a high priority on accuracy with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines and perform under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a bias for action and a strong work ethic
  • Exceptional relationship skills -- able to establish rapport and collaborate well with a wide range of individuals including external investors and internal stakeholders including finance and accounting, operations, legal and compliance, portfolio management and investment professionals
  • Ability to both identify problems, research solutions and suggest resolutions; someone who raises questions, gives opinions/ideas, and is eager to learn
  • Highly motivated with the ability to set priorities, multi-task and monitor their own workload to meet aggressive deadlines; takes initiative and has a strong work ethic, including proactively addressing projects at hand and improving processes
  • High level of professionalism and maturity with an ability to interact and build relationships with people of differing levels of seniority
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is mandatory; experience with CRM software is considered an asset
