The Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full‑time tenure‑stream position in operations research. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Applicants must have earned a PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related area and must have a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. Desired candidates will have an established international reputation and will be expected to sustain and lead an innovative, independent research program while maintaining an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded portfolio. Preference will be given to candidates with an undergraduate engineering degree who are eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer.
Evidence of research excellence should be provided through a research statement, publications in top-ranked and field‑relevant journals and conferences, awards, leadership in the academic community, editorships, and other notable activities. Evidence of teaching excellence should be supplied via a teaching dossier that includes a teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
