A major university in Mississauga is seeking applications for a full-time Associate Professor position in Accounting. Candidates must hold a PhD and demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. The Department of Management at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Accounting at the rank of Associate Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Applicants must have a PhD in Accounting or a closely related field. Candidates from all areas of Accounting are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated mastery of techniques in theory, empirical, or experimental research methods is required, as well as a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and research. The successful candidate will sustain and lead innovative and independent research and maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
Evidence of research excellence may include high-impact publications in top-ranked and field-relevant journals, the research statement, presentations at significant research seminars and conferences, awards and editorial activities, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing. Select applicants may be invited for a campus visit to present their research as part of the interview process.
Evidence of teaching excellence will be demonstrated through a teaching dossier, including a teaching statement, sample course materials, teaching evaluations, and endorsements by referees.
The successful candidate will be appointed as a faculty member at UTM. UTM Management is part of the tri-campus network with Rotman School of Management and University of Toronto Scarborough, under the Graduate Department of Management. Successful candidates will be cross-appointed to the Accounting Area of the Rotman School of Management, providing opportunities to collaborate with faculty and graduate students at the St. George Campus.
Appointment with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor requires a tenure review following the university policy procedures.
