A national public broadcaster in Iqaluit is seeking an Associate Producer to oversee current affairs programming. This role involves editorial tasks, producing content for various platforms, and requires fluency in both Inuktitut and English. The Current Affairs Associate Producer keeps up to date with current events and news happening in Inuit Nunangat. You will be someone who is engaged by working on applied technical problems and editorial discussions when you encounter them.
You have an interest in storytelling and a knowledge of wanting to tell stories of Nunavummiut.
With coaching from our Producers, you will help get programming ready to air while keeping in touch with the team to provide support on stories and events around Nunavut.
As Associate Producer assigned to radio current affairs you will perform editorial assignments related to the gathering, writing and presentation of program material for all of our media platforms and especially for social media and radio programming.
You will participate in the production, direction and post‑production of a program or program segment. You should be engaged with the demands of a deadline‑driven environment and proficient at managing multiple tasks during breaking news situations.
You should be interested in chasing and developing stories and original research. You should be able to generate story ideas independently.
There may be opportunities to coordinate the work of others and close cooperation with the station is essential.
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
