About the role

At the Access Solutions Process Development team in Mississauga, Canada, we are looking for an Associate Process Engineering Manager to lead a team of high performing and innovative engineers through all phases of product development. You will apply your functional knowledge and business expertise to contribute to the delivery of robust and scalable processes to divisional and operational customers. Through strong collaboration and strategic vision, your input in departmental and global initiatives will drive progress and empower teams to successfully achieve Boston Scientific’s purpose of advancing science for life.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, lead, and provide technical direction to technicians and engineers to develop highly capable, scalable, and robust manufacturing processes, and successfully transfer these processes into operations
  • Assist manager in providing guidance and training to staff, developing team members to attain career goals, motivating individuals to achieve results, and recruiting and maintaining a high‑quality staff
  • Partner with manager to establish department goals, objectives, and budgets
  • Assist manager with resource planning and hiring for the department
  • Lead engineering teams to the successful completion of Process Development project goals
  • Collaborate with manager to ensure execution of functional deliverables associated with Product Development Process (PDP)/Technology Development Process (TDP), Project Management, and Quality Systems
  • Successfully complete Process Development engineering project work for new product development
  • Prioritize and manage execution of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Build and maintain strong cross‑functional team relationships
  • Work cross‑functionally to identify and resolve engineering issues
  • Ensure compliance with policies, processes, and quality standards
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in device design and development, lean manufacturing and/or process development
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience leading technical teams
  • Prior experience in the medical device or other highly regulated industry
  • Demonstrated cross‑functional collaboration in fast paced environment
  • Proven experience performing multiple process characterizations across a variety of technologies.
  • Experience in training and mentoring engineers in problem‑solving and process improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of and ability to teach Design of Experiments (DOE) principles.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5‑10% domestically and internationally.
Preferred qualifications
  • Prior experience in catheter development, including work with dilators, guidewires, catheters, braiding, reflow, tipping, and fixture design.
  • Proven leadership and management of technical teams, including coaching, development, and motivating individuals to achieve results
  • Experience in functional management, project management and budgeting
  • Experience leading teams in developing and transferring manufacturing processes and/or production lines across a global network
  • Ability to anticipate future technology needs and initiate programs with minimal oversight
  • Experience leading teams throughout the product lifecycle—from exploratory to commercialization and end of life
  • Strong vendor management and collaboration skills

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
