Job summary

Our Client, a leading national law firm, seeks an Associate Lawyer to join its Securitization practice and support a sophisticated transactional workflow for major financial institutions and corporate clients.

Ideal candidates have 1–4 years post-call experience, are in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, and demonstrate strong drafting, negotiations, and client-service skills to manage complex matters with increasing autonomy.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years post-call experience.
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage files with increasing autonomy.
  • Strong client service orientation and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Advise financial institutions, investment funds, lenders, and corporate clients on securitization matters.
  • Support sophisticated securitization transactions, including domestic and cross-border matters.
  • Assist with secured lending and capital markets transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents and related financing documentation.
  • Work directly with partners and clients on complex financial services matters.
  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
  • Build client relationships and develop expertise in securitization.

Our Client

Our client is a leading national full-service law firm recognized for its excellence, strong Canadian presence, and collaborative culture. The firm’s Financial Services group is seeking an Associate Lawyer to join its highly regarded Securitization practice and contribute to a sophisticated transactional practice serving major financial institutions, investment funds, lenders, and corporate clients.

Responsibilities
  • Advise financial institutions, investment funds, lenders, and corporate clients on a broad range of securitization matters
  • Support sophisticated securitization transactions, including domestic and cross-border matters
  • Assist with secured lending and capital markets transactions
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents and related financing documentation
  • Work directly with partners and clients on complex financial services matters
  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice
  • Build client relationships and develop expertise in a specialized practice area
Qualifications
  • 1 to 4 years of post-call experience
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario
  • Strong interest in developing a practice focused on securitization
  • Experience in securitization required; experience in secured lending, banking and finance, capital markets, or derivatives is an asset
  • Experience handling sophisticated transactional matters in a law firm environment
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage files with increasing autonomy
  • Strong client service orientation and collaborative mindset
