Faulkner & Van Barneveld Professional Corporation is seeking a dedicated Associate Lawyer to join our team. We are a small boutique law firm specializing in Family Law, located in the heart of downtown Barrie, Ontario.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for Family Law with excellent communication and mediation skills.
  • Strong self-motivation and confidence, with the ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience in a Family Law environment, including the ability to handle 25+ files independently.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Family Law Act and experience with Children’s Aid Society (CAS) matters.
  • Proficiency in filing Family Court documents.
  • Willingness to work with both Legal Aid and private clients.
  • Good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of work efficiently.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box and find innovative solutions.
  • Experience with legal software (familiarity with Amicus is an asset) and comprehensive file management.

This position is best suited for an individual with a minimum of 2 years' experience practicing Family Law. Please note: This is a fee-split opportunity for a self-employed individual, with the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. Basic administrative support is provided for both options.
