The RBC Dominion Securities branch located in Courtenay, BC is seeking an Associate Advisor to join a successful Advisory Team.

As an Associate Wealth Advisor, you will work with an Investment Advisor team and be responsible for providing proactive advice and support to our clients and the Investment Advisor, helping deepen existing relationships and welcome new clients to the firm. Identifying new opportunities and helping to grow the business will be a key and exciting part of your role.

What will you do?
  • Use your expertise in the financial services to collaborate with an investment advisor in organizing and facilitating meetings and events for clients and prospects. With a strong understanding of the business and client needs, you will play a key role in shaping agendas, identifying essential discussion topics, preparing documentation, handling post-meeting follow-ups, and attending client meetings as needed.
  • Support your advisory team with new client acquisition.
  • Tap into your superior problem resolution skills to provide proactive client service. Working collaboratively, you will at times liaise with various departments to provide smooth and timely solutions.
  • Coordinate activities with internal Wealth Management specialists, manage documentation, track progress and follow up.
  • Provide bespoke financial planning advice and wealth management strategies.
  • Nurture and manage valuable relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) and RBC partners.
  • Identify and execute opportunities among existing client base for asset consolidation, referrals, etc.
  • Use proprietary software to prepare financial plans.
What do you need to succeed?
  • At least 3 years of relevant investment industry experience
  • Approval as a Registered Representative (RR) with CIRO
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course/University degree
  • A self-directed individual with a growth and goals-oriented mindset
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • CIM / FMA designations, an asset
  • Salesforce experience an asset

Compensation

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable incentive payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals; market conditions; and business needs.

The expected base salary range for this position is $38,000 - $55,000.

This position may be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment up to 1.5x base salary.
