Responsibilities

  • You will build rapport and trusted relationships with MD clients through active listening and by developing an appreciation of what’s important to them.
  • You’ll recommend an approach based on their level of understanding and interest, tailored to their specific needs.
  • You will help to promote MD products and services with clients and prospects, including “disengaged” clients.
  • You will be accountable for client contact preparation, documenting client notes in our CRM tool and identifying new business opportunities through the proactive mining of your book of business.
  • You will lead the collection of deficient Know Your Client (KYC) information on newly assigned and existing accounts, ensuring orders are suitable vis a vis client objectives.
  • You will identify and develop new business opportunities to prospect and grow the client base, while ensuring retention of clients through trusted relationships and servicing your client book.
  • You will seek out new opportunities through the active mining of your book of business.
  • You will understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
  • You will actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Reporting to the Manager, Virtual Advisory Team, as an Associate Financial Consultant – Digital Channels, you will be responsible for helping MD’s clients achieve their financial goals through an understanding of their personal and professional objectives, recommendation of MD products tailored to their specific needs, and the provision of timely and exemplary service.
