Job summary

Unilever Canada is seeking an Associate Finance Manager (AFM) for Foods Canada to partner with brand and supply chain teams, drive value creation and provide financial leadership across pricing, new product initiatives, capital investments and benchmarking.

The role analyzes results, communicates trends to executive leadership, and leads process improvements while building strong cross-functional relationships to develop annual plans and forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required or equivalent.
  • MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of related financial planning and analysis experience.
  • Experience in Brand, Supply Chain, Customer Development (Sales), Audit, Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Financial Planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic business partner, bringing an understanding of Finance, value creation and business drivers.
  • Focus on operations including pricing strategies, business assessment of new product initiatives, capital expenditure evaluation, competitive analysis and benchmarking, process redesign and scenario planning.
  • Analyze financial results and key trends, assess risks, and communicate results to leadership.
  • Implement process improvement actions in assigned areas and develop procedures for duties.
  • Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional partners to develop annual financial plans and ongoing forecasts for expenses and headcounts.

Associate Finance Manager (AFM) – Foods Canada

Earlier this year (March 2026), Unilever announced an agreement to separate our Foods business. Our Foods business, including brands such as Hellmann's and Knorr, will join forces with McCormick to become a global flavour leader, with leading positions across spices, seasonings, condiments and complementary food categories, supported by a strong retail and foodservice platform. McCormick has 135+ years of heritage, a presence in 150+ countries and territories, and a portfolio of trusted brands. The transaction remains subject to consultation, regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions with a targeted deal close of mid-2027.

What Will Your Main Responsibilities Be
  • Serve as a strategic business partner, bringing an understanding of Finance, value creation and business drivers.
  • Focus on operations including but not limited to formulation of pricing strategies, business assessment of new product initiatives, economic evaluation of capital expenditures, competitive analysis and benchmarking, business process redesign and scenario planning
  • Analyze financial results and key trends, assess current and future business risks, and communicate results to leadership.
  • Implement process improvement actions in assigned areas in line with development of procedures for required duties.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional business partners to develop annual financial plans and ongoing forecasts for departmental expenses and headcounts.
What You Will Need To Succeed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of five years of related financial planning and analysis experience with increasing responsibility and control
  • Prior work experience in Brand, Supply Chain, Customer Development (Sales), Audit, Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Financial Planning is preferred
  • An enterprising and inquisitive nature that can find solutions to complex problems
  • Experience creating and implementing process improvement solutions

Pay: The pay range for this position is $95,000-$115,000. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
