Job summary

ABB is seeking an Associate Field Service Technologist based in Coquitlam, BC, supporting on-site and remote services for DCS systems across Western Canada. You will travel to customer sites, diagnose equipment issues, and implement technical solutions with mentorship from ABB specialists.

Recent graduates or early-career technologists are encouraged to apply. A Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology is required, and you must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will act as a field service representative providing on-site and remote services to customersThis position is a new role and will be on-site.Your responsibilities:Handle customer service-related issues while fostering strong customer relationships and working to resolve technical problems on-site.Communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management, third-party vendors, and ABB personnel in support of service operations.Troubleshoot and repair DCS equipment by applying technical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and experience to identify and resolve issues.Troubleshoot equipment and process-related problems, provide clear recommendations to customers, and implement effective technical solutions. Identify improvement opportunities and recommend potential solutions.Prepare, deliver, and present service documentation, including reports for new installations, maintenance activities, and audits.Travel regularly within Western Canada and occasionally throughout Canada, the United States, and internationally to provide on-site services, project support, and training as requiredQualifications for the role:Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (Automation and Instrumentation Option) or an equivalent program.
