At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence. We'll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help build a better working world.

The Opportunity

The Commercial Excellence Lead plays a pivotal role in elevating EY’s commercial performance across Canada’s most strategic and high‑value pursuits. With AI as a catalyst in how professional services are delivered and priced, it is important to continue to evolve the systems that support the firm in understanding market signals and adapting our support across all service lines. This role is part of the Strategic Deals Team, working closely with service lines, account teams, engagement leaders, industry & sector groups to consolidate market signals, shape pricing strategies, guide pursuit teams through commercial decision making, and coach teams to articulate EY Canada’s differentiated value in an increasingly AI‑first marketplace. This highly visible leadership role requires strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence complex internal and external stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Shape and support the evolution of our pricing capabilities in Canada, from consolidating market insights to supporting pricing strategies and change management across our practices and teams.
  • Help establish EY Canada’s pricing strategy for big deals and strategic pursuits, driving value‑based pricing aligned with AI‑enabled delivery, technology investment and evolving delivery model.
  • Collaborate with deal coaches and act as a pricing advisor in shaping commercial narratives.
  • Guide account, engagement, and pursuit teams in pricing decisions, ensuring clarity between known and unknown AI‑related efficiencies and protecting margins while demonstrating value to clients.
  • Partner with all service lines and Clients & Industries teams to bring consistency to pricing models, commercial structures, negotiation strategies, and GTM narratives.
  • Partner with account, engagement, industry, sector leaders and teams to shape go‑to‑market strategy and articulate differentiated value propositions.
  • Enhance pursuit performance using data‑driven insights, deal economics, and financial analysis to inform commercial decisions.
  • Foster commercial excellence across teams through coaching, collaboration with Global and Super Region Sales and Commercial Excellence teams and alignment with EY’s transformation and GTM priorities.
  • Create pricing insights tools that can be leveraged across the firm.
  • Become an expert in all existing pricing tools (regionally and globally).
  • Train additional resources in pricing best practices, tools and technology.
  • Develop a network across Super Regions to continually improve our pricing practices.
Skills and Attributes for Success
  • Minimum 8‑12 years of experience in professional services, consulting, or strategic sales.
  • Experience in commercial activities such as go‑to‑market strategy, pricing and sales.
  • Strong analytical skills, financial analysis and forecasting, strategic thinking, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of engagement lifecycle management, risk assessment and the ability to interact with senior management levels.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, specifically top‑level executives.
  • Strong facilitation, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
