Job Description

What is the opportunity? The Associate Director (Actuarial), Portfolio Manager, Annuities & Other Benefits leads the valuation team of Group Annuity (Pension Risk Transfer) portfolio and Individual Annuity portfolio as well as the portfolio of other benefits to perform financial reporting on monthly basis and support the creation of Appointed Actuary Report (AAR) every fiscal year. This role also leads the annual experience studies regarding its portfolios and supports the risk review of Group Annuity deal quotes. The role offers high visibility and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership to shape future direction and priorities.

What will you do?
  • Lead an actuarial valuation team to perform the production of results during every month-end close period.
  • Collaborate with Finance team to design or fulfill the need to book manual journal entries.
  • Improve and maintain the Earnings by Source statement to help explain financial results.
  • Improve and maintain the CSM rollforward for the respective portfolios.
  • Conduct and complete the annual experience studies to analyze the experience emergence of respective portfolios.
  • Other ad-hoc related work as assigned by various stakeholders.
What will you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Familiarity with insurance product modeling, pricing, or valuation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical results to non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to collaborate in a team environment and manage competing priorities
  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or a related discipline

Nice-to-have:

  • Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA) or close to FSA exam progress.
  • Experience with GGY AXIS
