Job description

Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

The Associate Creative Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the visual and creative direction of marketing campaigns, branding initiatives, and product communication for a leading global B2B SaaS company. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands‑on design expertise, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality creative assets that resonate with both business clients and internal stakeholders. This role also plays a key part in reimagining what our web and digital experiences can be in an AI‑first world — moving beyond conventional page‑building toward more interactive, memorable digital experiences for our customers.

This is a remote role open to candidates based in Canada.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead the development and execution of creative concepts for digital, print, and multimedia marketing materials.
  • Own our tokenized digital web design system in Figma, with components mapped one-to-one to our codebase so that a single change cascades consistently across the entire site—coordinating with the Brand Creative team to ensure we show up in a consistent, evocative manner, and keeping the system structured for both designers and AI‑assisted tools to build from.
  • Prototype and build directly using AI‑assisted design and development tools, moving fluidly from concept toward a near‑shippable experience rather than relying solely on a traditional design‑to‑engineering handoff.
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and sales teams to create compelling visual narratives that align with brand strategy and business goals—including bringing an e‑commerce and growth‑oriented mindset to our web store, a fast‑scaling, revenue‑driving part of the business run more like a product than a typical marketing site.
  • Manage a team of digital designers, providing guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback to ensure high standards of creative excellence.
  • Oversee the production process from ideation through to final delivery, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Contribute to the creation of brand guidelines and ensure consistency across all creative outputs.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging design tools—including AI‑powered ones—integrating innovative techniques into the creative process.
  • Work closely with UX to ensure that our user insights are being delivered upon.
  • Analyze and optimize creative assets for performance across various digital channels, ensuring that designs drive engagement, conversions, and customer retention.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
  • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team.
Minimum requirements for the role:
  • 8+ years of experience in a creative role with 2+ years of experience as a direct people manager within a B2B SaaS or high‑tech environment.
  • Expertise in design software such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
  • Experience and curiosity around AI models and tools for how they augment design workflows and condense time between design and development.
  • Hands‑on experience working within a componentized or tokenized design system in Figma, ideally one connected to a live codebase.
  • Genuine, hands‑on fluency with AI‑assisted design or prototyping tools—you don't need to be a deep technologist, but you should already be building with these tools as part of your process, not just aware of them.
  • Strong understanding of brand strategy, UX/UI design principles, and digital marketing best practices.
  • Ability to translate user insights into compelling digital experiences.
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, heatmaps, or A/B testing to understand how creative assets perform and optimize them accordingly.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which can be helpful for collaborating with developers and understanding web‑based project requirements.
  • Proven track record of managing cross‑functional projects, collaborating with various teams, and delivering high‑quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts to non‑design stakeholders.
  • A portfolio showcasing a range of creative work, including B2B marketing campaigns, digital experiences, and branding projects.
An ideal candidate also has:
  • Experience designing for or partnering closely with an e‑commerce or product‑led‑growth (PLG) motion, in addition to traditional marketing/brand work.
  • In‑house experience at a fast‑scaling company, in addition to or instead of agency experience.
  • Experience preparing or structuring a design system so it can be consumed by AI or MCP‑based tooling, or tying a design system directly to a live codebase.
  • Proficiency in motion design tools like After Effects or Premiere Pro for creating dynamic content, video assets, and animations that complement creative campaigns.
  • Experience with 3D design software like Cinema 4D or Blender, adding depth and sophistication to projects.
