Job summary

Spin Master is seeking an Associate Counsel in Ontario to provide expert counsel on commercial law, licensing and IP, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of agreements across vendor, distribution, technology and marketing.

The role requires a JD and 2–4 years of experience in a law firm or in-house, with privacy/data security knowledge and IP rights experience in a children's entertainment context. Hybrid work and competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• JD and bar admission in Canada.
• 2–4 years in a law firm or in-house.
• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating technology and commercial agreements (distribution, licensing, marketing, procurement).
• Privacy and data security knowledge is a strong asset; IP and technology for children's entertainment knowledge is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on commercial agreements (technology, marketing, sales, procurement).
• Support and provide advice on Intellectual Property matters.
• Monitor changes in laws and implement policies for compliance.

Education

Juris Doctorate, Called to a law society in Canada

2–4 years experience in a law firm or in-house

Drafting, review and negotiation of technology and commercial agreements
