What the day will look like
  • Collaborating with Brokers and Account Executives to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business;
  • Analyzing client-specific risk exposure and details coverage requirements; preparing and presenting marketing proposals for renewals and new business;
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with the underwriting community for the ultimate benefit of the client;
  • Negotiating with Underwriters for the best terms, conditions and competitive pricing for existing and new clients;
  • Verifying all policies and documentation for accuracy in accordance with terms and conditions;
  • Following up with insurer to confirm terms of negotiated contract are met;
  • Approving documentation for new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions and renewals;
  • Leading by example by demonstrating and sharing the importance of best practices;
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Post-secondary degree, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience, ideally with a background in Environmental Studies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
  • Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task;
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure;
  • Experience in insurance, risk consulting, claims, or broking is considered an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability in negotiation and relationship management;
  • RIBO license is an asset, or a willingness to obtain it in the future;
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development, including pursuing insurance courses and certifications such as CAIB, CIP, CRM, or MBA.
