What is the opportunity?

The Associate Branch Director works in concert with the Branch Director to oversee all aspects of the branch. Responsibilities include overall branch profitability while meeting strategic targets through: sales management, human resource management, operations control and supervision of compliance. Provide leadership and support to Investment Advisors and support staff in hiring, training and motivating. Assess performance, provide appropriate developmental opportunities, coaching and feedback as required. Promote the firm’s corporate image by developing and maintaining business relationships throughout RBC Financial Group and within their respective communities.

What will you do?

  • Clearly demonstrates effective management and supervision of all compliance issues and responsibilities on a daily basis.
  • Provides effective and consistent communication via weekly sales meetings, sales support meetings and team meetings.
  • Engages in high performance coaching with each IA.
  • Clearly demonstrates behaviors which motivate all employees for greatest results including personal development, recognition and promotion.
  • Consistently seeks opportunities to engage employees in improving the working environment within the branch.
  • Develops actionable feedback for IAs and support staff, whether it is positive or corrective. Is willing to make tough decisions.
  • Solves difficult problems effectively. Deals with the root cause, looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at the first or easy answer.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.

What do you need to do to be successful? Must Have:

  • Post-Secondary Education (College or University)
  • Retail Brokerage Experience with minimum of 2 years Investment Advisor experience or similar experience
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with ambiguity and managing multiple operations and servicing activities in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to engage a diverse team that includes branch staff, middle office and internal and external partners
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities and in dealing with challenging and sometimes complex situations to drive success.
  • Proven experience in leading a team, coaching and developing and motivating others.
  • Decisive and Results Driven
  • CSC, CPH, BM license preferred.
