About Hopehill

The Cedars at Hopehill is an 89-unit assisted living residence located on the Hopehill campus in northeast Vancouver. Together with our independent living buildings, we form a caring community of over 380 residents. Established in 1951 by the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada, Hopehill’s mission is to foster a safe, healthy, and supportive neighbourhood where maturing adults can live with dignity, purpose, and belonging.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Assisted Living Manager provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of daily operations at The Cedars. This role ensures high-quality, compassionate care and support services for residents and a positive, coordinated work environment for staff.

The ideal candidate is both people-focused and systems-minded; a leader who brings structure and clarity to daily operations while fostering teamwork, communication, and accountability. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen processes within The Cedars and collaborate with the broader Hopehill management team to enhance overall coordination and organizational effectiveness. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day leadership of The Cedars Assisted Living program, ensuring exceptional, person-centered care.
  • Mentor and support staff to foster teamwork, accountability, and alignment with Hopehill’s mission and values.
  • Strengthen internal systems and processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality of service.
  • Use data, feedback, and collaboration to inform decisions and implement practical improvements.
  • Manage finances and budgets, staffing, and resources responsibly to ensure sustainable operations.
  • Maintain full compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, the Residential Tenancy Act, and all related regulations and quality standards.
  • Build positive relationships with residents and families, responding with care, professionalism, and transparency.
  • Envision, design, and implement integrated systems that connect people, processes, and information to strengthen organizational performance.
Education and Credentials

A strong background in management, business, or health-related disciplines.
Experience or training in Health Care Administration is an asset.

Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ progressive leadership experience in a leadership role preferably in seniors’ housing, assisted living, or health care settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage operations, and implement improvements that enhance service quality.

Compensation and Benefits
  • $89,000 to $101,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
