Job summary

CN is seeking an Assistant Track Supervisor to lead the operations of an assigned track territory, including inspection and repairs of rails, ties, switches, and ballasts. You will provide daily support to the Track Supervisor and ensure alignment with CN safety standards.

The role involves supervising track gangs, ensuring adherence to the collective agreement, and coordinating with Transportation and Mechanical teams.

Qualifications

• Safety compliance experience
• Ability to supervise and coach teams
• Experience with unionized workforce and grievances handling
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations

Responsibilities

• Lead track operations and inspections according to CN's operating plan
• Supervise track gangs, track employees, and hi-rail operations
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, Transport Canada guidelines, CN standards
• Provide daily guidance to Track Supervisor and monitor performance
• Apply collective agreement and company policies and address grievances
• Oversee budgets and productivity within CN policies
• Communicate track condition and daily production to senior management
• Ensure track safety through regulatory inspections and Track Inspection System
• Respond to track issues and accidents, coordinate with Transportation and Mechanical
• Plan, schedule and perform track repairs and maintenance
• Respond to emergencies and derailments
