Job summary

Puglisevich on behalf of Odfjell Drilling is seeking an Assistant Technical Section Leader for offshore Newfoundland operations on a DP3 ultra-deepwater semi-submersible. You will assist the Technical Section Leader with maintenance planning and execution of lifting operations.

Requirements include a Canadian Second Engineer License, multiple years on 6th-gen units, and strong mechanical/electrical skills. Contract, full-time with long-term horizon and potential travel.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Canadian Second Engineer License (Unlimited) MOU Surface or STCW Equivalent.
  • 1.5 years experience as an Assistant Technical Section Leader on a 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible.
  • 4 years previous experience in a role on a 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible.
  • 4+ years experience from Posmoor ATA operations on Semi-Submersible.
  • 4+ years experience with AKER, MHWirth, MH DAT, Wartsila and Cameron equipment.
  • Broad range of mechanical, electrical skills and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Structured and organized mindset.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Analytical ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Technical Section Leader in their duties.
  • Carry out maintenance of the rig's mechanical equipment and piping systems according to the maintenance program (SAMS and checklists).
  • Carry out required repairs on mechanical equipment and piping systems.
  • Ensure that all mechanical equipment and systems are in a first-class state from a safety and operational point of view.
  • Assist Electrician, as required, in the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, in coordination with Technical Section Leader.
  • Assist Drilling Section Leader, as required, in the maintenance and repair of drilling equipment, in coordination with Technical Section Leader.
  • Assist OIM/ Marine Section Leader, as required, in connection with anchor handling, in coordination with Technical Section Leader.
  • Assist Engine Room Operator, as required, in connection with major repairs/overhauls of the main engine, emergency engine and associated equipment, in coordination with Technical Section Leader.
  • Assist Materials Administrator in connection with stocking mechanical parts.
  • Familiarize themself with and fulfill their obligations in connection with emergencies according to the procedures and safety plan.
  • Observe to uncover any non-compliance and immediately report these to their superior.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all work is done safely and professionally and actively take part in safety meetings and other meetings.
  • Emergency duties according to the unit's emergency organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

TYPE OF RIG: DP3 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible, Hercules

ROTATION: Equal Rotation

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract, Full Time

CONTRACT: Long Term Contract; Estimate 400 Days + 300 Day Option

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: Four (4)

JOB SUMMARY:

Assistant Technical Section Leader is responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical facilities. Assistant Technical Section Leader is delegated duties for day-to-day operational planning and execution of lifting operations in their work area.

PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
