Working as a Superintendent in the Civil & Infrastructure Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will support large-scale building and infrastructure projects ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion. Your role involves collaborating closely with the project management team, client groups, and subcontractors to achieve project excellence through leadership, detail orientation, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project.
• Apply the requirements of project‑specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes with all employees and trade partners.
• Use a proactive approach to ensure project materials are supplied and in compliance with our Quality Program.
• Identify and establish on‑site manpower requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and walk with the site team to support the project.
• Collaborate with trade partners and consultants.
• Develop and drive the construction schedule with the project team, ensuring completion dates and milestones are met.
• Apply problem‑solving skills to recommend innovative methods that increase effectiveness and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager on all construction site start‑up details, including the schedule.
• Model professional conduct during coordination meetings with clients and representatives.
• Maintain workforce training for the site team and ensure all training is up to date.
• Receive delivered materials on site according to company policy.
• Ensure the project is built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes, and keep all documentation current.
• Manage construction site inventory and work with the Logistics team to ensure accuracy.
• Keep construction site documentation organized.
• Celebrate project success and play a key role in the project wrap‑up process.

Qualifications

• Previous relevant experience within the civil construction industry.
• A construction‑related certificate, diploma, or degree.
• A proven track record of project success and team collaboration.
• Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, quality, and cost control.
• Ability to quickly identify problematic situations, analyze possible causes, produce effective solutions, and collaboratively lead a large team to successful completion.
• Passion for developing, maintaining, and executing the project schedule.
• Good computer skills and experience with scheduling software.
• Knowledge of the market and ability to work throughout the region.
