Job description

The Campbell River Hospice Society is excited to announce the opening of our new Hospice Thrift Store in late fall – a warm, community-focused shop where every donation and purchase provides free grief and end-of-life care programs for individuals and families in our community.

We are seeking a Part-Time Assistant Manager to support the Thrift Store Manager in daily operations. This person will help lead a team of compassionate volunteers, ensuring a welcoming and organized shopping environment while maximizing store success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and lead store volunteers during shifts, fostering a kind and inclusive team atmosphere.
  • Be responsible for all store operations while on shift, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily financial reconciliations.
  • Work alongside volunteers to sort, clean, price, and display donated items.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all shoppers and donors.
  • Support with social media content.
  • Assist in accepting and processing donations with care and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to ensure smooth daily operations and strong sales performance.
  • Represent the Campbell River Hospice Society with professionalism and compassion.

Hours & Schedule

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule as the store establishes its operating hours.

  • Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Three weekday evenings: 3:00 p.m. – closing (times to be confirmed)
  • Potential Sundays: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Flexibility is essential as we refine our opening hours and build the team.
