Duties And Responsibilities

The incumbent is responsible to assist the Space Coordinator with the Carleton University Space Database, performing physical space audits to verify configurations, re‑planning of administrative and academic spaces, including renovations to furniture configuration.

The incumbent must understand and utilize knowledge of the administrative and academic organization of the University including hierarchies in order to gather and analyze information; including identifying requirements and developing programs for future forecasts; disseminating program details and information; preparing reports; feasibility analysis; and development of space planning options.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to execute and provide high level of service in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently as an effective team member in order to complete assigned projects in a timely and successful manner.
Education And Experience
  • Completion of a three‑year diploma in Interior Design or Architecture Technology from an institution recognized by the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARDIO) or Association of Architectural Technologists (AATO).
  • Minimum of three years of related experience in the Architectural/Design field including knowledge and use of the most recent AutoCAD release and experience in commercial interior space planning.
  • Experience with commercial, university or institutional design preferred. Equivalences in education and experience will be considered.
