Overview

INDUSTRIES LTD./Termel Industries is a privately owned structural steel and mechanical specialized service company serving the local Industrial Bulk Handling and Steel Construction Industries. We are currently recruiting for the position of an ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER in North Vancouver. This is a permanent full-time position to begin immediately.

Located at 1667 Railway St. North Vancouver, BC, V7J 1B5.

Summary: Under the direction of a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the administration of construction contracts and ensure project work adheres to the specifications and schedules. Maintain communication with client, internal office, shop and field personnel, and advise Termel Senior Management on project status. Provide scope definition, change management and direction to the project team. Coordinate Termel's Construction Safety Program.

Responsibilities
  • Administering Client, Vendor and Subcontractor contracts, Construction Safety Program and project deliverables.
  • Estimating construction costs and preparing formal or informal quotations and proposals.
  • Project document control with respect to drawings, specifications, procurement and change management.
  • Monitoring work in progress, contract obligations and allocated budgets.
  • Maintaining clear communication with Clients and Termel Senior Management regarding project status.
  • Representing Termel and its interests with Clients, Staff, Vendors and Subcontractors on and off jobsites.
  • Identifying problems and allocating appropriate resources to expedite solutions.
Candidate Qualifications
  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in construction, engineering, estimating, processing / manufacturing operations or similar industries.
  2. Creative problem-solving abilities and strong three-dimensional visualization.
  3. Effective communication and organization skills.
  4. Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  5. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam an asset.
  6. Ability to get a Port Pass through the Chamber of Shipping.
  7. Comfortable at heights, operating Industrial jobsites and active Construction zones.
