Job summary

MacEwan University, School of Continuing Education, invites applications for an entry-level, full-time, three-year limited term Assistant Professor position in Sustainability Studies, commencing January 1, 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter, subject to budget. • PhD (or near completion) with a focus on sustainability education, theory, principles, and practices from an interdisciplinary perspective.
• Evidence of teaching excellence, curriculum development and experience with teaching online at a post-secondary level.
• Preference will be given to candidates who incorporate work-integrated learning approaches and project/community-based teaching.
• Teaching workload not more than 8 courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate Sustainability Studies courses as part of a full-time, three-year limited term appointment.
• Contribute to curriculum development and program planning within the School of Continuing Education.
• Demonstrate ability to teach online at a post-secondary level.
• Engage in service activities within the School of Continuing Education and University community.

The School of Continuing Education invites applicants for the entry-level, full-time, three-year limited term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Sustainability Studies, commencing January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible after this date, subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful applicant will hold a PhD (or evidence of near completion) with a focus on issues relating to sustainability education, theory, principles, and practices from an interdisciplinary perspective. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education and provide evidence of teaching excellence, curriculum development and experience with teaching online at a post-secondary level. Preference will be given to candidates who incorporate work-integrated learning approaches in their courses as well as project and community-based approaches to teaching and learning. This is a teaching and service position at the Assistant Professor level with an expectation of a teaching workload of not more than 8 courses.
