The Faculty of Science at Ontario Tech University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Game Software Engineering and Testing at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities

  • Candidates should have obtained or be near completion of a PhD in Computer Science or related fields. Applications from exceptional candidates with expertise in the area of Game Software Engineering and Testing will be preferred.
  • Ideal applicants will have postdoctoral experience and be able to demonstrate a strong academic background, a record of excellence in research, and evidence of, or strong potential for, effective teaching.
  • Possess excellent English language skills demonstrating an ability to ensure strong, two-way communications on an ongoing basis that contribute to collaborative/collegial relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the community at large.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to follow a 40% Research, 40% Teaching and 20% Service workload each year.
  • Develop successful and innovative externally-funded research programs which support peer-reviewed publications, training of graduate students at both masters and PhD level, and academic and industrial collaborations.
  • Be responsible for teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level and contribute to curriculum development. Explore and develop effective pedagogical applications of technology in Computer Science education.
  • Collaborate within the technology-enhanced learning environment and participate in curriculum and program development as appropriate.

Other details

  • This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the UOIT Faculty Association and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement.
  • Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and annual salary increases are administered as per the terms outlined in the collective agreement.
