The advertised position is at the Mississauga Campus. The Graduate Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto is a tri-campus department, consisting of philosophy faculty appointed on all three campuses. Graduate teaching and supervision typically take place on the St. George campus.

The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.

In addition, the successful candidate will be assigned a teaching and service load. The successful candidate must be able to teach a wide range of courses in philosophy from the introductory to advanced levels, including both undergraduate and graduate courses. Undergraduate classes will be taught at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus, and graduate courses at the tri‑campus Graduate Department of Philosophy on the St. George campus. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in the regular supervision of graduate students in the tri‑campus Graduate Department of Philosophy.

HIRING SALARY RANGE

The expected salary range is $130,000 to $150,000 CAD per annum, depending on experience. Negotiations beyond this salary range will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
