Job summary

The Department of Psychology at the University of Alberta invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Community-Engaged Scholarship in Psychology, commencing July 1, 2027.

We seek applicants who will develop an interdisciplinary research program, with emphasis on Indigenous methodologies, Indigenous knowledge systems, or Indigenous approaches to psychology, and who can teach undergraduate and graduate courses while supervising students and postdoctoral

Qualifications

• PhD in Psychology or related discipline by the date of appointment.
• Track record in community-engaged scholarship in psychology.
• Evidence of engagement with Indigenous communities or Indigenous research approaches.
• Ability to secure external research funding is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a community-engaged and externally funded research program in psychology.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses with focus on community-engaged scholarship and Indigenous methodologies.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.
• Build networks and partnerships within the university and with external communities.
