ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Assistant Plant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient day-to-day operations at our seafood processing facility. You'll work closely with the Plant Manager and production team to maintain high-quality standards, optimize workflows, and lead production staff to meet business objectives. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring proven seafood processing experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Support the Plant Manager and work closely with the Production Manager in overseeing daily production activities, ensuring operational efficiency and quality control. Plan and coordinate production schedules, balancing material availability and labor requirements. Optimize plant equipment and workforce utilization to increase production capacity and reduce costs. Collect, maintain, and analyze production data to improve efficiency and inform decision-making. Maintain high-quality standards while developing and implementing new processing procedures. Assist with logistics for all incoming and outgoing products to ensure smooth operations. Train, develop and collaborate with plant staff to build a strong and capable team. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and implement best practices to maintain a safe work environment. Troubleshoot operational challenges, proactively addressing issues to minimize downtime. Assist as needed by operating our forklifts both inside and outside our production and cold storage areas.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Previous experience in seafood processing industry required. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to motivate a team. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Experience with plant operations, or production scheduling. Knowledge of seafood safety regulations and processing best practices. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management abilities. Fluent English skills; fluency in Chinese, Japanese or Vietnamese is an asset. A proactive mindset and ability to work well with the team in a collaborative environment.
