We have an exciting full‑time opportunity for an Assistant News Director to join our news team supporting our radio and digital products in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. We are looking for an experienced journalist who can share that knowledge with our growing news team.

Acadia Broadcasting is a growing media company with radio stations in Atlantic Canada and the Northwest. Each of our markets focuses on being the community’s local voice for entertainment, news, and events.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the supervision of a 15‑person news team, including assignment monitoring, quality scheduling, policy setting, and performance management.
  • Train and onboard new team members.
  • Create stories for radio and digital with a hyper‑local focus.
  • Participate in a rotational weekend on‑call schedule.
Qualifications
  • Five years of experience as a reporter and radio anchor.
  • Strong interviewing, writing, and editing skills for digital and broadcast.
  • Knowledge of the CP style guide.
  • A self‑starter who can work in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines, including breaking news outside regular office hours.
  • A Journalism or Digital Media diploma or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with industry software including Burli and WordPress (asset).
  • A valid driver’s licence.
